  • In collaboration with AMAFFI, the RHS and Form Plants, our team at Butterworth Horticulture gifted a wonderful, show quality garden to the hardworking and courageous staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

From inception to the grand opening on Friday 22nd May, our team had three days to complete the monumental task of transforming the garden from its previously sorry state into an inviting space for all. With generous donations from London Stone, Torcpots, Indian Ocean, and all of the plants sourced from Form Plants, our team created a wonderful space inspired by the tireless efforts of our NHS staff across the country.

  • With over 1000 plants used on site Jamie Butterworth and Dario Pizzi designed a garden solely sourced from Form Plants. These plants were destined for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, however, AMAFFI generously gifting these plants to the hospital and they will now play a far more important role than we could ever have imagined.

The use of scented and aromatic plants creates a calming space for staff, aiding both patient care, the health and well-being of NHS workers and connecting the community with the space. The beautifully planted central beds draw the eye up towards the pre-existing trees in the garden. The handcrafted pot centre pieces provide the perfect canvas for the bursts of colour that surround them. The installation of the neutral decking area provided by London Stone towards the rear of the garden, as well as the benches from Indian Ocean, allow visitors to the garden an elevated view point of the garden as it springs to life.

  • Dominic Conlin, Hospital Director summarised the garden perfectly, describing it as an “overwhelming gesture” that will impact the heroic staff at Chelsea and Westminster hospital for years to come. Form Plants is proud to have played a part in such a rewarding and truly humbling project.

We would like to thank the members of staff at the NHS, the RHS and AMAFFI for their support and for their efforts on this project, as well as the tremendously giving volunteers. We are in awe of the colossal effort of all NHS workers throughout UK, this garden is but a token of the gratitude we have for all the work you have done.
