  • Meet The Team

  • Meet our team of passionate plants people, comprised of senior managers, tree surgeons, designers, soft-landscapers and horticultural specialists. Our friendly staff are dedicated to creating and maintaining beautiful gardens.

  • Jamie Butterworth

    Managing Director

Throughout his career Jamie dreamed of running his own soft-landscaping company, with the sole purpose of bringing beautiful gardens, quality plants and superior service to the industry. In the autumn of 2018 this vision became reality and Butterworth Horticulture was born. His ethos of passion and horticultural expertise forms the mainstay of the business.

As Managing Director Jamie wears several hats, which extend outside of the day-to-day runnings of the business. As well as heading up Butterworth Horticulture, Jamie is one of eight ambassadors for the worlds largest gardening charity, the RHS. He is also the gardening expert for BBC Radio London, as well as a contributor to Talk Radio and BBC Radio Berkshire. An author too, Jamie’s debut publication ’50 Plants You Can’t Kill’ hit top of the gardening category on Amazon.

  • Alan Williams

    Operations Director

After studying art and design at Worcester College of Technology, Alan had the opportunity to showcase his creativity as a florist before landing a job at an interiors and design firm.

Seeking new ventures and a change of scene, Alan decided to try his hand at a landscaping company, enjoying the opportunities to work creatively outdoors. While working for Keyscape Design and Construction, Alan co-designed The Perfumers Garden at RHS Malvern Spring Show, which received a RHS Gold Medal and an award for Best in Show.

As general manager Alan is a vital member of the team, helping to oversee the variety of exciting projects.
“My position at Butterworth Horticulture has given me a new challenge, helping to create a company that has passion, determination and drive”.

  • Hector

    Dog

Whether he’s motivating the team, riding shotgun in a van, snoozing under the shade of a tree, helping you with your lunch, or keeping your seat warm; you’re bound to see Hector roaming around somewhere by Jamie’s side.

A more solitary work ethic to the rest of the team, Hector prefers the easy life sitting on the side lines rather than getting his paws dirty.
